I’ve have several flickr friends ask me about HDR photography, so I decided to write a blog about it. First, I am just learning HDR, but it is a useful tool. I like the depth that it adds to some photographs, and the sliders are amazingly fun….Many of you know much more than I do and I hope that you might add to this blog with your comments….or suggestions.
First, I give credit to flickr friend Alan, manual_exp , for introducing Photomatix Pro to me. It is online software that will take multiple raw exposures and put them together into one photograph. The cost was $99 in 2009…
Alan uses cs3 for processing as well. I have Adobe photoshop which helps me to finish processing the HDR photo. Other folks use Adobe Lightroom, Noiseware, and fluid mask, I understand, but I am not there yet and have not invested in those programs.
Photomatic will let you try out the program for free and give you some instruction, but the most useful information that I got came from Alan, and the following flickr site. http://www.flickr.com/photos/sandmania/3291934513/ Sandmania has posted an advanced HDR Tutorial which might be of help.
Anyway, hope this helps to you get started…The way to start is just to jump in and give it a try. Good luck and keep me posted!
