June 16, 2011 the Endeavor blasted off into space and now it has come safely home again, as of June 1st, 2011. What a blessed trip and crew. With the safe return of the Endeavor, the shuttle has ended its flying career. It is hard to believe that the Endeavor crew completed four spacewalks and worked on maintenance upgrades on the International Space Station on this last mission. Mission pilots, Col Gregory Johnson, Col. Mike Fincke, and crew were so delighted to be aboard this final mission of the Endeavor I understand. I, for one, appreciate their professionalism and wisdom on this last mission. I am glad that they went and were so successful.
I was fortunate to see the blast off of the last mission of the Endeavor. There are a few photos of that event!
The pictures show the take off, thrust of the engines, going through the cloud cover and the reaction of some of the folks after the blast off…It was an event to remember for sure, a touching moment as well.
