Last Fall, I was fortunate to take a trip to the Tetons…I took loads of photographs while visiting that beautiful place….At times I was able to set up my tripod and my “good” DSLR camera, and other times I used my point and shoot just for a snapshot or two while exploring the sights. This shot was taken with my point and shoot, then I processed it in Photoshop Elements. I am in the learning stage of Photoshop, but with my Photoshop book in hand and a little help from others along the way, I am not unhappy with the results….
Because this shot was not taken as a raw file, I made regular adjustments using the Menu bar in Photoshop. After that, I put my photo on Flickr to share with my contacts. My Flickr friend, Moraypix, gave me other ideas to try. He said to select the lower part of my photo, refine the edge and lighten it, increase the saturation, and then use the soft light adjustment, which I did. Well, I had never used some of those functions before and was amazed how nice the water and the reflection came out. Gee, it is so nice to try new ways of improving an image and learning from more experienced photographers.
I’m finding that I just can not learn enough about photography. For example, I had jury duty early this week, and while waiting, I took my Photoshop Guide and sat there trying to figure out how to do this and that as if I were reading a recipe book …I think am hooked on photography!
