Have you ever heard of the Silver Dollar Pawn and Jewelry Center in Alexandria, LA? Well, I had the opportunity to check it out and it was an amazing place. There was something for everyone. They even had the 10 Commandments posted outside their door which was proudly posted for all to see. I was pleased to notice the posting and maybe, just maybe, it stopped some would be thieves from stealing from their store…but the real reason that I’m blogging today is to share a painting that caught my eye….
The photo below is of the painting of an old gentleman with plenty of soul, I think. I would love to hear him play that guitar. Wouldn’t you? He could make that guitar sing….
Blues musicians let you feel the pain in their music ~ soul to soul. On the painting, a message was written, that if it ain’t been in a pawn shop, it can’t play the blues…. Yep, probably when you think about it, the best blues musicians probably got their first guitars from the pawn shops ..
After noticing the painting, I noticed the guitars for sell in the pawn shop. They had a good assortment for sell, ready for the taking….Blues in the Pawn Shop….Yes, I can hear those guitars telling their stories via the old used strings…….
